The first week of the rest of my life /2

The flowers displayed at Hampton court flower show had to struggle with the hottest July day on record , and in the main they fared better than we hoards of visitors. The red and clammy look suits no one .....save perhaps the trio in gold lamé doing a belting job of singing Motown covers in the food court.

I couldn't help thinking that none of the show gardens has the pizazz of our own garden at home- designed, planted and maintained by my creative, green-fingered other half. A plug for the health giving properties of gardening is timely here.

A ride down the Thames to rendezvous with a bus and be reunited with our trusty camper van, was a cooling, be calming mode of transport, rounding off a special 24 hours which marked the start of the rest of my life.
